Tented Wedding at home in East Hampton, NY
/ Ashley DouglassEvery client is different in so many ways. Some are more whimsical, some over the top, and others beautifully restrained. This couple? Decidedly restrained. Above all else, this wedding weekend was entirely—and perfectly—smart and charming. If there were an award for the best understated wedding, Charlotte and Sutton's tented East Hampton celebration would receive gold.
Each of the three days of events featured blue and white. While this may seem completely commonplace for a Hamptons wedding, each day was perfect in its own right. Every choice was made thoughtfully, every menu item carefully selected with the guest list in mind, every wine glass—though clear—chosen with the specific varietals in mind.
We love the Hamptons, and they feel like home at this point. I know my way around the Hamptons better than the neighborhood I grew up in. When the Hamptons are home away from home for a couple, weddings land softly, with warmth, welcome, and intimacy. The area really does have a bad reputation. There are those who want to impress, and then there are those who love quality over quantity and their people more than pomp and circumstance. That's Charlotte and Sutton.
